Kurt Vonnegut 1922-2007
Tonight the world lost a great mind in novelist, essayist, playwright, husband, and father, Kurt Vonnegut. Author of such triumphs as Slaughterhouse Five and Breakfast of Champions, Vonnegut had a knack for tapping into the most absurd qualities of human existence, all the while acknowledging the tenderness of life's daily minutia. An unparalleled wit and a true humanitarian, he will be dearly, dearly missed.
GOOD was lucky enough to have Mr. Vonnegut contribute the scribbled self-portrait shown above to our first issue. May he rest in peace.

The loss of a great mind indeed.
I cruise onto your site and was not expecting to read about Vonnegut's death. He was probably the first author that I had read when I was younger that made me want to read all his books. Tragic.
Vonnegut has died.
So it goes.

God Bless You, Mr. Vonnegut
Vonnegut was a misfit, a poet, and a realist. His writing gave me faith in humanity when there was none to be found in my immediate surroundings. It was possessed with a sense of humor that set the bar for all future laughings, and a sense of truth for the hard stuff to come. Oddly enough, I also think he is why I like men with wild, curly hair and a penchant for doodling.
Thank You, KV. For your light, your edge, and your brilliance.
RIP
