My parents are still married. I have 1 sister and 3 brothers. Had pets all my life, dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, birds. Love to read, hike, learn about different cultures and languages. I love to try cooking new and different foods (non-U.S. food). Love to go out and do stuff (dislike staying home). I work with Deaf and Hard of hearing kids. I love my job.

Education
response to Max Joseph, Tom Van Buskirk, and George Langford's post Education
I completely agree that school lunches are not helping. These are the worst in 'nutritional value' if you can even put that label near a school lunch!
I work in a school so I am there everyday and see a lot of things firsthand.
I was going over a learning program with my son today (on technology) and wondering why our schools do not use more programs such as these. My son was picking up so very much from it. I think schools need to overhaul the system completely. Ditch a lot of the useless curriculum and stop lecturing the kids about where they are going to someday NEED this useless information.

response to GOOD magazine's post Project 008: Responses
It is nice to see these taken out of all the ones that have posted their designs and participated because so many of them have NOTHING to do with "big ideas". It is disappointing to see that Threads mixed your design campaign with their usual submissions.

I am lucky enough to live in a city where I can find restaurants that serve these many different cuisines. I have heard of many of them (AND tried many of them!) and am happy to see that GOOD brought them into the spotlight. I believe it is important to expose yourself to many different cultures and food is one aspect of these cultures (a very delicious aspect!)
