Living
response to Trendy's post Do the Right Thing Don't Smoke on the Streets
So Trendy just where do you think it's ok to smoke? I suppose you will say nowhere because smoking is unhealthy, obnoxious and harmful to non-smokers. So let me ask you are you equally against drinking, speeding, aggression, war, spitting, and spreading germs on everyoneelse? Do you drive an electric or hybred car. Shop for food once a week, give large tips to wait staff when dining out. Are you for or against birth control, abortion, the draft. Where are you on overpopulation thegreatest threat to us all on this planet short of the sun blowing up.
I'm sure there are rude smokers who smoke in crowds and that is wrong. Before we start a civil war all I'm asking is that we all need to clean up our minds about other people's lives. This is still a free country I believe.

Art & Design
response to Jeff Howe and William Morrisey's post Jeff Howe on art
Who, indeed, does care. I suspect these examples is,like all art, a personally defined truth. So I went on a search. Wikipedia states "Art is an application of a creativity that has some form of appreciative value, usually on the basis of aesthetic value or emotional impact. Much about art is controversial, including what specific cases can be considered such."
The tinman gallery says "I have defined art as the creation or invention of linked and sequential pattern which extends over all aspects of the composed field. This definition builds a strong link between the concepts of art and composition."
Aperson I know believes photography is not art because it's"just" capturing something that already exists and not "creating" anything.
I'm beginning to believe art is dynamic and cannot ever be defined.
In the end we alldefine art for ourselves and arguments over the definition is like grading a subjective answer to a subjective question.

Scooter & Cheney were the source of all focus and the delusional lies told to the public to get us into the Iraq war. If he has to sweat or even go to prison for the deceit he spread I'll be happy. I'm only sorry Cheney wasn't indicted for outing a spy. This trial is about a cover-up kept from the light of day by Scooter's lies. It's about more than perjury.
